Really bad experience

We reached early around 9.30am to the hotel and requested for early Checkin as we had a 3 year old kid who was very sleepy. Your receptionist ELENA first told us to wait for 2 hours and told us we will try to give the room by 11.30am. So we stayed at the hotel reception for 2 hours. At 12 noon, she said that the room is not available and she started saying I don’t know how much time will it take, it can take 15mins or 30mins or 1 hour. Then she told us to take the standard room while I paid for executive room. We asked your another receptionist and she told us it will take time. Then I left for the market at I already wasted my 2 hours in the morning. The way she was talking to us was very unprofessional and rude. She didn’t have the empathy as to how we were feeling and still had the same rude response. I just stayed for 1 day but I stayed in another hotel for 3 days near acropolis. It was a far better experience than staying in Novotel.

After investigating your case, we would like to let you know that, as it is written also in our hotel's policy, Check-In time starts at 15.00 and Check-Out time is at 12.00. Early Check-In (before 15.00) may be given to our guests only upon availability. Unfortunately, the day of your reservation, we were fully booked and there were not any empty and cleaned rooms -of the type of room you had booked- at the time of your arrival, 9.00. Our colleagues were trying to find a solution, understanding that you were tired, and this is the reason they advised you either to wait at the restaurant or rooftop, or enter to another type of room. This was only proposed to you for your convenience. Once the room of your booking was available, around 12:30, we called you to the phone we had in our system to inform you about that, but unfortunately we could not find you. Once again, we appreciate your understanding and patience during this time and regret that we were unable to meet your expectations. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with the exceptional stay you deserve. Please, accept our sincere apologies. The family of four had an executive room. The room was clean and well kept. the kids slept on the sofa bed, which was hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was included and had a nice range of food with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. the hotel is located near the main train station and a busy interchange station, but the surrounding neighbourhood had a feeling of being rather rough. This was not the case and we didn't have any problems, but it left impressions as many buildings were abandoned. Novotel felt like an oasis in this area as it was clean and felt modern. Staff were friendly and very helpful and we were greeted every where we went within the hotel. Nice stay and recommended.

Basic room, only 1 tea bag, no crockery only one paper cup each for tea/coffee, no USB ports to charge phones or tablet, very firm bed. Rooftop bar and pool area was nice with views of the Acropolis.

What a location !

I think the picture of the rooftop is misleading since the location of the hotel is in an unsafe area full of drug addicts and tramps sitting on the street. My wife was totally scared to walk around the hotel. This damaged our stay. so NOT thank you Accor even though I am a more than 30 years customer Taxis run by local mob asks you 25$ to drive 2 kilometers from the center to the hotel. This also does not help you to reach the hotel in a normal way. I am sorry but a 4 stars hotel has nothing to do in this area. Since you have received this comment 1000 times, I do not expect any change. Your roof top bar is closed at 1850 not even 1930 as told when I arrived. What is the point then to leave it open except if you are not interest to make business ? Not sure really The only positive point is the kindness of your staff.
